Franklin Mall Food Boxes

The Lions Club distributes approximately 8000 pounds of non perishable food, plus gift certificates to purchase additional items at a local grocery store to needy families each year! We reach between 100 and 150 families. This is a true community event with community members working beside Lions at each step in this process. Food donations are collected at schools, churches, and local businesses. Scouts, students, senior citizens, and everyone in between help Lions pack the book into boxes. Food boxes are usually delivered the Saturday before Christmas.

This project was started many years ago by long time Sandwich resident Franklin Mall. The Sandwich Lions Club has continued the practice after his death. Sandwich Lions accept cash donations and groceries during December to support this project.
